Programs + sessions
Bluebird offers psychologically informed wellness and community-based programming designed to support confidence, emotional resilience, nervous system awareness, and healthy connection in youth and athlete spaces.
Programs are rooted in action sport culture, emotionally informed facilitation, and creating supportive environments where participants can safely challenge themselves, work through fear, build confidence, and experience connection through shared experiences and movement.
Founded by Chantel McDougall, a Mental Health and Addictions Nurse with over 15 years of experience in mental health, addiction medicine, crisis intervention, and youth-centered care, Bluebird combines mental health literacy, youth development, and action sport culture into accessible, community-based programming.
Bluebird programs are not technical skateboard coaching sessions or clinical therapy services. The focus is confidence development, emotional regulation, resilience, athlete wellness, and psychologically informed experiences through movement and community.

Athlete Wellness + DeveLOPMENT
Building Athletes From the Inside Out.
Every athlete trains their body. The athletes who thrive over time also develop confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and a strong sense of belonging.
At Bluebird, we believe these aren't "soft skills." They're performance skills.
Drawing on over 15 years of experience as a nurse in emergency mental health, Bluebird Athlete Development helps athletes, coaches, teams, and organizations strengthen the psychological side of sport while fostering healthy environments where athletes can learn, grow, and perform.
Through engaging, psychologically informed workshops, we explore:
Confidence under pressure
Emotional regulation and recovery after setbacks
Resilience and healthy risk-taking
Communication and leadership
Psychological safety and team culture
Identity beyond performance
Building trust and belonging within teams
Our goal isn't simply to help athletes perform better. It's to help build environments where athletes feel safe enough to grow, supported enough to take risks, and confident enough to reach their potential.
Because the strongest athletes aren't just built in the gym.
They're built from the inside out.

Women’s + Moms’ Community Sessions
A low-pressure skate culture-inspired movement and community experience for women who want to reconnect with courage, confidence, play, individuality, and themselves.
Bluebird Women’s + Moms’ Community Sessions are designed for women at all experience levels, including those who have never stepped on a skateboard before, are reconnecting with movement after years away, or simply want a supportive space to try something new without pressure or performance.
This is not about learning tricks or becoming “good” at skateboarding. It is about creating space to move, laugh, wobble, try, take up space, and remember that confidence often starts after the awkward part.
These sessions use skateboarding culture, beginner-friendly movement, supportive challenge, and community connection to create an environment where women can reconnect with parts of themselves that often get pushed aside by work, caregiving, stress, responsibility, and routine.

nervous system reset through movement and connection
confidence-building through trying something new
community connection and peer encouragement

skate culture moments highlighting women in skateboarding, individuality, creativity, music, art, DIY culture, and belonging
The Bluebird Energy
Bluebird recognizes that skateboarding is more than a sport. Skate culture has always held space for individuality, creativity, retrying, awkward beginnings, self-expression, and people figuring things out together.

Just movement, courage, community, and the reminder that you are still allowed to take up space.
